When Gabriel tells Frankie to explain to him why he should get him a new phone. The smartest thing that Frankie could've said was this: "You got Martin a new phone when he ruined it by peeing on it." I would've loved to have seen Gabriel's response to that.
oh my god me too
He would probably said "Martin works for me, he needs a phone so I can get in contact with him" Franky "What if you need to get in contact with me" Fluffy " I live with you Franky, I don't live with Martin" that's how I see conversion play out if he asked that question or something similar to that.
Gabriel mentions that only in his shows. There’s no way Frankie watches his Dad’s shows, otherwise he’d probably be a LOT smarter and more informed.
OMG!! I remember saying your whole message when you were supposed to state your name for a collect call. LMAO He's right. Kids will NEVER understand what we went through.
Every kid at the jr high. Same thing. Call home after practice collect, parent denies, but knows to come pick up kid. So so so many ways to get around paying. My friend and I even called another pay phone collect and accepted the charges... then set both phones down and left. Lol.
If you had parents like mine you did
Well I can I'm 16 and I have been using a button phone for 3 years now and the balance I buy for it comes from my lunch money savings.🙂
I never had to make a collect call but I remember the days before cell phones as we know them and he is right about the nasty pay phones or finding one that works
Dude you had to pay a nickel or a quarter for music today it's free
As soon as he mentioned collect calls from payphones I was waiting for him to do the message trick. I recently turned 50 and remember leaving full messages for my name when I had to call from school after practice lol.
I'm 35 and used to do it lol
I remember the collect call commercial s... unfortunately they have gone the way of the cigarette vending machine.
I like the fact that he doesn’t just make people laugh but he educates
So funny and so true! Thank you for all you put into your work! The gift you give us with laughter is priceless!
Happy Friday and Happy New Year's. Thanks for the funny clip because I remember using those payphones myself at night, at 7-11 or at the mall. We even had one at my job outside.
@Safwaan Nah, actually I'm 50 turning 51 next month.
@Safwaan Memento mori brother
@Kou Khang *sigh*, I know man I know, I don't wanna think about it though, I feel like our lives go too fast and we don't do enough with what time we have
@Kou Khang🤭 🤣🤣🤣👍🏽
Back in the early days of my marriage, we only had one car. One of my part-time jobs was driving a charter coach. There were no cell phones and the garage where I returned the bus did not have a phone accessible to the drivers after hours. We pre-planned "the code" phone call. I would stop at the nearest truck stop or other location with a public phone before returning the bus and "call collect." She would refuse the charges and know that I needed to be picked up in about 30 or 45 minutes at the bus garage after cleaning and refueling the coach. You gotta do what you gotta do. 🚌
Fluffy is currently the funniest living comedian
he is good but rolf miller is lightyears better
Billy Connolly too
@Xero according to history, probably shakespeare
Who's the funniest dead comedian?
@Aaron Halverson S A M E
Sending this to my 10 year old daughter who thinks she NEEDS a smart phone…..oh my god I love this so much.
@cristina sanchez This conversation between you two just warmed my heart. So much respect
@thelordoftime803 I suppose you're right, but I still think she's to young. Maybe give her a phone in middle school so she won't feel left out. Also teach her the dangers of a phone.
@cristina sanchez I agree with you as well, but you can't protect your kids from generational defects. They'll hate you for not allowing them to have phones like all their friends. It's better to educate good internet usage than to try and stop it.
@thelordoftime803 Yes I do agree. That this day and age you might need a phone but the girl is Ten. 5th grade that's to young to look at social media. At, that age kids can be curious and look at things they shouldn't. Another thing social media the girl, could be more self aware about her appearance.
@cristina sanchez In the current age and society, they do, you're cutting them off from their entire world.
You're a constant reminder that people can be good. Lets take the moment to appreciate how much effort he puts into the content for us ❤️
When Gabriel asks his son to give him a good reason to get a new phone, I can’t believe that Frankie didn’t give the more obvious answer: “Our teachers require us to keep our phones in our lockers during class. Yes, the phone is my responsibility, but I still have to follow our teachers’ rules.” There’s no way that a teenage boy goes to school in pants without any pockets, so he had to have had a good reason for putting the phone in his locker, rather than keeping it on himself. But then again, Frankie doesn’t sound like the brightest bulb in the chandelier.
@thedarkninja2000 that person was agreeing with you.
@KAuser 2094 of course, he could use the more recent and relevant excuse of a school shooting to justify a “need” for it.
@KAuser 2094 the fact he doesn’t need it is irrelevant. My argument is based on Gabriel’s earlier point that taking care of the phone was Frankie’s responsibility. Frankie isn’t responsible for making sure his locker is burglar proof. Nor would he be responsible for keeping it in his locker if his teachers asked him to keep it there, which is the reason I’m guessing why he kept it there. My argument is going off the assumption that Frankie knows that a cell phone for a teenager isn’t a luxury.
Yeah I can understand the argument that he doesn't necessarily NEED it, but none of what happened was his fault at all and it makes complete sense for a teen to be concerned and anxious in such a situation. Obviously this isn't the full story but it does feel like he should of calmed down his son first and foremost before anything instead of seemingly egging him on.
$1000 for a new phone, he's insane, don't get him a new one, and this is coming from a 16 yr old kid
no no no the trick is you give him a broken phone that doesnt work and tell him to fix it so it does work and he can keep it
@Brynn Elizabeth thank u so r u for saying this too!🥰
Idk how long ago this was. Your comment is on point. 🤣 you’re awesome in my book for that one.
@Kou Khang Dude get your head out of your backside. People still talk and kids still play outside. The big difference is you don't have to go through a shitty landline to get in touch with people
@Kou Khang well we still do but you need to initiate it or atleast put the phone down for a bit like I talk with my dad a lot and I wanna understand how life was for him bmand everything
You know a Fluffy story is gonna be good when he’s wearing a Hawaiian shirt. So basically everytime.
The best problem solver!! 😂😎
A fun way to start the new year, watching Fluffy. Happy New Year, Gabe
Wishing you luck for next year Fluffy! Love from India!
"A cell phone isn't a necessity for a teenager, it's a luxury!" Me: Fluffy, can you tell that to any spoiled rich kid who has one as well as who has a tablet, iPad or any other useless electronic device please?
Dude have you seen the situation of corona you need to talk to your teacher so no iPhone, ipad, tablet, computer then no school dumdum
@sYn those are literally the most asinine arguments I've ever heard. Victim blaming aside, technology is more essential today than it ever has been in the history of the world. That's only going to become more true over time. Get with the program, Boomer.
@KIRA didn't get mine till the same grade and I'm in the US
I’ve had my phone for 5 years now, I have a friend who gets a new phone every 2 years, I have a chromebook for school, an Xbox, and a PC. Am I spoiled, 100%. But I have the opportunity to have all these nice things, so why not have them? I am grateful and respectful about it.
@Dearth of Doohickey’s Actually sanitation is necessary for survival.
"He's not getting his way so he turns around and screams at the ground "THEY TOOK MY PHONE" I say "Hey you took my freedom, you dont hear me screaming. We just accept it and process it and move on" 😂😂😂😂😂
The most concern of a typical teenager is phone loss, second concern is broken phone
GOD bless you Fluffy!! You are a GOOD DAD!!
"You have no idea how funny it is" oh that's cold 😂😂😂
In 1974 at age 17 I got my first car from my dad, a '67 Mustang that had front end damage and a worn out engine. He didn't give it to me, he sold it to me for $375.00! That's a lot of cash for a young man earning $1.60 an hour working part time after school. That car was my social media. Times have changed.
Soft men make hard times, hard times make tough men, tough men make easy times.
So proud we lived that era best one ever !
Teenager in 80's phone calls on point!🤣❤
I would do the same thing with my parents with collect calls.
Creative problem solver fluffy 😂
that last bit though, i was dying 😂
When I was growing up cell phones was very expensive and was the size of a red brick. They was used for voice communication only there was no texting and no internet. Making a call back then costed you a certain fee for the first minute and then a certain fee per minute afterwards. Finding someone who had a cell phone back then was a rare thing.
Love this guy 😍🤣
Happy New Year 2022, Mr. Fluffy!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Everybody was talking 10 mph when leaving the reason for the call when you're supposed to say your name 😂😂
The end reminded me of my youth and the use of payphones and of course that unforgettable 90s Geico commercial making fun of collect calls with "itsBobwehadababyitsaboy"
When I was a kid I had to do the collect call thing and summarize everything on the acceptance message
Fr I love this guy's he is my favorite jokes
If someone steals from my kid I am going to take exception to that and facilitate them to deal with it right away. We are not the same.
My phone went from luxury to necessity at 19 when i started working postmates lmao
Is there a way to buy all his shows on BD or DVD or something? I'd love to watch all of this!
Remember back when I was still in middleschool, my mom was using a payphone to call my dad on another city. She would always bring a pack of tissue and alcohol to wipe it down before and after using it.
5:28 it was so fast I can't read subtitles also🤣🤣🤣
Man I forgot about the unique ways to get your message across, imbedded as your name, when making a collect call. There used to be a website that had tons of them and people would post what they successfully were able to get through on.
HE HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE COMEDIAN SINCE THE 6TH GRADE!!!
And I'm 22!!
Hell no I'm on my mi hijo - that's a mamas love right there 😂
"a cellphone isn't a necessity it's a luxury!" I'm 16 but need a phone for my job not an expensive one but I need one to clock in to work
When mobile phone started to get popular in the early 00's in our country we had the 3 sec rule for a while by some providers. The first 3 sec of the call was not charged. Omg for a poor university students this, was a way to save money lol. Tried to put the message in a 3 sec call. If you had longer message you delivered it in sections.... It was annoying AF but it was free..when you were running low on credit this was brilliant unless you run over to 4 sec... Then it sucked lol
Holy fuck. 😂😂 I forgot about that. Collect call short messages was an art.
Sad fact: it's hard to promote ALthe channel so I should write such comments to promote it
He doesn’t want peace he wants problems always!!!
happy new years
ITS KACCHAN! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Omg. Decades later and I'm still embarrassed. I was too young to understand how collect calls worked. We recently moved to another state and I wanted to chat with my friend from the old place because I found something she'd think was cool. ....I'm sure yall see where this is going.... We were at the park, so I went and found a pay phone. Called her collect because I didn't have the $2.50 on me for a long-distance call. (Do kids these days even understand the concept of "long distance calls"?) Her mom was PISSED.
@Ernest Scribbler okay millennial
Use Skype or Zoom, you could talk free for hours.
My mom used to do this trick as a kid as well. Apparently it was common practice.
Fluffy is part of my three tier funny group.
FLUFFY! Good one. Love you.
The parents in the crowd lying hard 😂 they know they bought their kids phone and shit
You are priceless Gabriel !!!!!
You're right, to have a phone is a luxury, or even a curse.
I really need workout shirts, from XL to fluffy size, that have a picture of Gabe pointing that says PUT ON DEODORANT!
Million dollar idea alert 🙂
Bro I started watching him when I was 9
😂 I have a picture of my kids next to an actual pay phone. They have no idea how to use it.
We did that in Australia with reverse charges too.
I would have said I need it to watch your shows
Thankyou Thankyou you brighten my day 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
HAPPY NEW YEAR FLUFFY!!!!
A phone is an integral part of interaction for teenagers at this point in time.
Actual collect call messages I left for my parents in the 1970s: "I'm alive and will be home late.". "There was an accident but we're all ok". "I'll tell you the truth when I get home." "Pick me up at Nino's"
"MOMitsmepickmeuphereatthe7/11at6hurryupiloveyoubye" Damn that one hit too close to home LOL
i just realised the first person i saw this year besides my family is fluffy
IM GOING TO SEE HIM IN FEBRUARY!!!!!! IM SO EXCITED
Happy new year guys ✨✨
They broke into his locker,so wasn't his fault,he was responsible
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!
his operator voice was right on lol
Just purchased my tickets to see you perform in Hawai’i in September 2022… taking a friend who’s seeing you for the first time. Can’t wait till ur here again always an awesome time!
When I was that age you were lucky if you had a long phone cord so you could take the calk in a different room for pivacy. Yes, there were cordless phones at that time but we were poor and my parents didn't see the sense in paying extra money just to carry a phone around the house.
OMG, that is so true that you had to talk fast....I remember those days.
5:25 Dam I should tried that back then
I remember those days. Rotory phones. Explain that to a kid.
ON FREAKING POINT
Never tire of the fluff monster! No disrespect...:)
FUN FACT: THIS CHANNEL NEVER FAILS TO ENTERTAIN US: KEEP IT UP 🥰😍
When I was first married I was in the US Navy. On a 6 month cruise I made several long- distance collect calls from ITALY to MICHIGAN, USA!!! They were accepted, you don't want to know the bill. This was 1976.
Happy New Year to all and to all a Happy New Year!
Pay phones. Damn, last time I used one of those was in 2009
Hey Gabriel, what's the solution to 1 + 1 ? Gabriel: 3 or more.
the dog with its tongue out is great
"You took my freedom" You chose that. :P Granted, if I lost my phone it wouldn't be an issue, I have a computer.
I love u fluffy
This story was the ticket to new phone😇
I could never use a pay phone. My hearing isn't good enough.
*fluffy* back in the day *me* oh god lots of dads say that
I got a phone when I was a freshman in high school (2002), and it didn't do anything but make calls. No texting and it was a flip phone haha
@sYn I know right crazy
Times change. These days without a phone you are pretty much screwed.
When mobile phone started to get popular in the early 00's in our country we had the 3 sec rule for a while by some providers. The first 3 sec of the call was not charged. Omg for a poor university students this, was a way to save money lol. Tried to put the your message in a 3 sec call. If you had longer message you delivered it in sections.... It was annoying AF but it was free..when you were running low on credit this was brilliant unless you run over to 4 sec... Then it sucked lol
Aaah, the same goes for you too Mr Fluffy?
Funny stuff. Happy New Year Gabe.
ought to have Frankie pay for his cell phone service
new hooman, good jokes
I don't know how expensive a collect call was, but a smart phone costs hundreds of dollars and then extra charge for a plan / credit. A mobile phone is definitely a far superior tool but you definitely pay for it, likely much more than a couple dozen collect calls.
I would say that right now, a cell phone is a necessity for teenagers. Times have changed.
I used to do the same damn thing. 1-800-collect lmfao
You most certainly got that right bro 😎😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😁😁😁😁😁😁😎😎😎😎😎😎😀😀😀😀🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😆😆😆😁😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😄😄🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😅😅😅😅🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
