WARNING* - Just got a pocket 2 and found out it doesn't connect to Korean made devices like Samsung and LG. I read through a whole customer support forum and the only response from DJI is to say the consumer should use one of their "recommended" devices. You can't use the camera without registering it either. So it's essentially useless. Back to the drawing board.

DJI should have made it easier to distinguish the Pocket 2 from the OSMO Pocket. I ordered the Pocket 2 from Amazon. The box was NOT factory sealed. Inside the Pocket 2 box was an OSMO Pocket that an unscrupulous customer had returned to Amazon. So now I have to return the wrong item. I suspect this is going to happen to other people.

Oh my gosh I had no idea there was a little slot in the case to hold the extra lens. I'm an engineer, so I decided I'll design and 3D print a small case for the lens that also fits the yellow pads that came with the pocket 2 for cushioning and protection. I feel like an idiot now having actually designed and printed a case for a lens that already has a storage spot 🤣. I even prototyped a few designs before I got one that was perfect. Can't believe there was already a space for it

The footage looks good. The audio is crap. But not a deal breaker, for its size.

Would you have to hold onto the camera stick at time of shooting, or just put into a shirt pocket with the camera projecting above the pocket? IF it comes with a wireless on/off that would be perfect.

Every day I change my mind as to what to buy...this or the gopro 9. I want to walk and video, use it in the car, hands free for thrift shop videos, possible vids for dumpster diving and in my apartment for sitting videos. I can’t decide which checks off all my needs?

I went with this bc it’s more like a stick to hold vs the the 9 is half the size of my iPhone and square to me it’s just easier to handle at all times

@silbay why? Both are stabilized camcorders with front screens to keep in frame. Both have other strengths, but at their core they are very similar.....

Hmm. Hooking a camera up to your phone when your phone already has a camera. I must be missing something here.🤔 Perhaps someone should design a key pad that hooks up to your phone so people can dial phone numbers and send text messages.🤯

I wish the next DJI Pocket would have a portrait mode shooting without having to rotate the whole device so I could take videos without having someone hold the camera. All of social media platforms are doing vertical video now

Ugh. This camera has a horrid forced activation though. If you don't activate it within the smartphone app within 5 power-on cycles it literally locks you out of the camera. That's pretty BS to be honest and not very consumer friendly of DJI.

No really... bigger sensor is not better when it comes to cameras. My 10-15 year old camera beats the pants of any smart phone, even though they feature 10x more pixels. In reality, you can blow up even a few megapixel picture to A3 or larger and basically not see a difference. So here is what actually matters: the lens!!! If you have a 2 mm diameter lens on a shitty phone, then 3x1x1 is = 3 square millimetres. If you have a real camera with a 70 mm diameter lens, then that is 3x35x35= 3675 square mm! If you have a phone lens with 5 mm, that is 3x2.5x2.5= 19 square millimetres. So the difference is because a proper lens captures 1,000+ times more light and is all around better. So no matter how hard you wank over your pixel-count, it simply cannot capture light because that is a physical constraint of the small form factor. Cranking pixel-count up does not change that.

Anyone know if the wireless mic accessories will work for the original osmo pocket?

All the excitements were gone when I heard it doesn't have water resistance, live broadcast on Mimo Mimo still supports only one device. They also need to cross the horizontal vibration with a little help of electronic stabilization in the Mimo app, which could be a button. This put it back in the 2G era. I'm waiting for some other Tech Giant like Sony to come up with those ideas in reality as clearly, DJI fails after so many Osmos are already over.

Very nice indeed! There are some rumours that registering is required in order to use this product. Is this true, and how much are you required to register in order to just use it as a camera?

Is it true that it needs to be online - "activated" to be used (enable spy-tracking) ?

oh good god get over the "big brother is watching" syndrome. You have cameras all over your town watching you DJI could give a rats ass about what you do or see

if i wanted to use it in motion x my videos instead of my old gopro 5 could it be a good idea ???

This would be great for backpacking or long hiking trips where you need to pack light and don't want to bring pricey or heavy gear.

Yep! You need an adapter which you can buy from DJI or comes in the extended kit you can buy!

I kinda regret I didn't get the Creator Combo.Eyeing on that wireless mic.

It's the handy part for me. It's just so hard to film with my phone. I get way smoother footage with the Pocket 2 even if my hands are shaky.

you need the Osmo 3 or 4 to really use a phone with out any shakes

I actually don't mind walking around with that wireless mic. Anything furry is cute!!!😊

Hi peter, a really big fan and have learned a lot from you regarding film making....i wanted an advise....i am currently shooting with my smartphone and wanted to upgrade...i have a budget of 500$...should i go for some mirrorless camera (please recommend) or dji pocket 2 as the creator combo has all i need or something else

Gopro killer. Just the mic adapter is bigger than whole set of dji.

Not even close to a gopro killer. It is large and obtrusive compared to a Gopro. Do you really want this strapped to your helmet? It has it's place, even in the action cam environment. But it will never replace a Gopro as an action cam.

Hey Pete. what's upp as you said about the DJI pocket 2 bemiddle ground between a smartphone and a action camera. which camera would you suggest as middle ground for Beginners? please consider cameras that will be able to achieve good quality for a while, while we start to level up.. (he might don't see it but if anyone knows, please feel free to answer me) :)

I have the Osmo Pocket 1 and I love it, just wish it was more robust and splash and water proof. Was hoping the OP2 would be waterproof

I am a seller of firewood here in Oregon, and have been using my iPhone 6plus up to this point...But Ive been looking at cameras to buy, with my choices being a GoPro, and Now this Updated DJI Pocket 2....I think Id love to get one of the DJI. Some of the videos I could create would be so much easer.

is the slo mo still cropped if they wont allow us to get a full picture in 1080 at 150 fps what is the point , and can you connect it to your pc without turning it on taking it out of the case and then hitting accept !

Video is REALLY stabil /smooth. I am curious :Are you always "ninja walking AND is this raw or was smoothness /stabil modified in "post" it cant really look this good just shooting and upload...can it? This is nicer than my Gopro8 with 150$ gimbal..MUCH smaller with batter battery life and I bet night use ANY chance to compare this to GP8...as far as stabil /smooth and dark shots? Semper Fi Gunny
