How Kodak Exposed The Atomic Bomb
Kodak detected the first atomic bomb before anyone else figured it out. Then they made a deal not to tell anyone. Thanks to HBO Max, and their new show raised by Wolves for sponsoring this video! rb.gy/alghwn

“Alexa, play Radioactive by Imagine Dragons”
Wait, this isn't Fallout lore
If your government knowingly destroyed the lives of tens of thousands of it's own citizens, would you still trust it?
"Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.".
Gonna brag about having atomic energy on my bones to my grandkids
7:30 very nice of them to stop that fallout at the Canadian border
No country should have these weapons. Why can't we use nuclear for energy instead of war...
New mexico is beautiful and full of history to bad its going down the drain.
Kodak Black
What if the radioactive went 10000000000000000000000000000000000 times more than it was before the tear bomba
Horrible!
That’s why they later resorted to test the bombs on islands in the pacific and to poison people over there instead
Tried to find a cross section of fission products generated in a highly enriched nuclear blast, could only find reactor cross sections. There has to be a predictable pattern of fission products created no? I'm probably on a watch list for that curiosity search now... lmao
Kodak: "You ruined our product now give us money" Gov: "Nah we will tell you when and where we will ruin your product from now on instead" Alright seems fair
Why the HELL would you visit this location and potentially risk DNA damage from radiation. Assuming you took organic chemistry like me in college.... what the hell?? Stay the F !!! Away from A bomb test sites for OBVIOUS reasons
the content after about 7:20 just makes me so mad.
Todos tenemos estroncio radioactivo en nuestros cuerpos... “Todos” Kimosavi?
7:30 the US conducted more than a hundred nuclear tests! Contaminating all the middle US.
Ight I no longer think just average ppl are stupid. Even some of our leaders are stupid and dont understand what they are doing. Why as a species do we feel the need to keep putting bad examples of ppl into important jobs?
Kodac exposed the gov on tape
He shot this video at these coordinates: 34.12853860928676, -118.5129518686644.
trust me brother some day soon jail maybe incoming u r not even a scientist and proving history wrong in many of ur videos and now this sharing someones states secret and information in ur own way withou persmission
Why didn’t they take that carp to somewhere like Africa to test it
The radioactive material was probably transported within an elevated mixed-layer in the troposphere, not stratosphere.
Feynman, lyposarcoma; Von Neumann, either bone, pancreatic or prostate cancer; Oppenheimmer, diagnosed with throat cancer: Fermi, inoperable stomach cancer. “We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.” J. Robert Oppenheimer
Yup! The Cold War was horrible. The U.S. government cared more about their nuclear bomb tests than they cared about the American people.
This is why Kodak black is the goat
A lot of people got cancer from this and ALS but the individual pay the medical bills. We deserve our tax dollars to pay universal health care not trillions to secret military fund!!!
7:27 Is this how red states were born? Via radioactive poisoning? Republican => 10:21?
How insane is it that they can tell the age of wines and pictures just through the radiation from atomic bombs exploded decades ago?
So like Carl Sagan said, "The cosmos is within us. We are made of nuclear waste."
Why did I think he was going to talk about Kodak Black🤣
WTF?
Explaines a lot of american behavior. Doesnt explain how you can be cruel enough to throw 2 of them on cities...
See that border line between UT and AZ that is where I was born and raised. My parents lived there for many years before. Ya, the US government is just as dirty as other governments.
I like how they just kept Canada green because there is a border; like that stopped the wind. Hey California: Label the air from Nevada "Proposition 65 Warning for California Customers: WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm." Here's a fun bit of information: the mechanism which allows viruses, bacteria, and immune stimulants to enter the central nervous system is related to a compromised immune system. Environmental factors lead to compromised immune systems. Vaccines such as Pertussis and MMR (Measles Mumps Rubella) can cause encephalitis. Encephalitis is an auto-immune condition that can effect the CNS (Central Nervous System) and the neurons in the the brain. When permeation of the BBB (Blood Brain Boundary) occurs by a virus, bacteria, part of a virus, or immune stimulant through the lymphatic system the immune response in the CNS and brain causes the anti-bodies which normally fight infections to instead attack the neural receptors because they are similar to the receptor sights on viruses. Encephalitis can cause ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) which presents with the same range of symptoms as severe ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). In fact, encephalitis is often extremely difficult to diagnose, and lies well beyond the scope of most doctors and hospital workers. Some neurologists are specialized in understanding encephalitis, while others specialize in genetic disorders like ASD. There is a conflict of diagnoses because the severe range of ASD is not well understood, not confirmed to be genetic, suspected to be caused by viruses/bacteria/immune stimulants, and where the most tragic cases unfold. Encephalitis is covered under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program in accordance with section 312(b) of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. The Vaccine Injury Table is provided by the HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Autism is not covered by the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Encephalitis could easily be mistaken as severe ASD. In that case the family has no compensation to help them care for a severely disabled child. In the worst case the infant may die of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and due to bruising and necrosis caused by encephalitis it may be determined that the mother shook or abused her child; several mothers have been wrongfully convicted and put in jail after losing a child. Now mothers like this are subjected to meme like ridicule and group slander/bullying. Don't take my word for it; go look at videos of a child who has autism vs. encephalitis. Ask a neurologist if there is a possibility of misdiagnosis. I couldn't figure out what would motivate them to hide the truth; but when I realized the mechanism that allows encephalitis to strike is a compromised immune system due to environmental factors; that was the KEY; corporate/military industrial pollution = class action lawsuits.
Thanks for interesting content!
10:10 oh you are so naive. Of course they knew, they just did not care.
If this is how the government behave, no wonder there is a lot of conspiracy theories.
and all of this because some lazy idiots who did not want to move to the east coast and do the tests there...
I went to college at Vincennes University, I had no idea it at this kind of connection to things with the original atomic tests. Depressing but not surprising though given the immorality of the times that the US government's response to 'the worst place to test at is to the west' was to go 'but that's closest to our development centers so that's the best place for testing, plus we get millions of experimental animals to test on for free.'
You should test your weapons on the east coast. Ok, how about Nevada?
Positive effects of nuclear fallout: -Cesium datation.
Even with all the effort of the US governement, during in a state of emergency, and with an entire nation sympathetic to the governement, the trinity test didn't stay a secret. Yet some people still believe in the "deep state" or conspiracy theories about international cover-up...
My bones are made of strontium. Unbreakable.
Tama is “Tay ma” not tahmah
When I worked at Kodak in the 60s we used to put out on the rooftops of the buildings X-Ray films and after a few days or so we'd develop them and sometimes they showed those tiny dots which was a tiny speck of radiation. This could also have been from the Windscale nuclear reactor which in the 50s caught fire. The fire burned for 3 days and spread fallout over the UK and a lot of Europe.

Imagine how much worse it would have been if that one guy hadn't insisted on them including scrubbers in the stacks that everyone else mocked thinking it just a waste of money.
So many americans were victims of nuclear fall out without them knowing about it.
bitchin' ride bro!
40 years later, when plastic causes new diseased, we'll see another video like this saying how we were careless and now there is plastic in everyone :)

10:08 DISAGREE
Growing up in that era, we were warned not to make snow ice cream from the FIRST snow of the year, because it might contain radioactive fallout. Now, it looks like that admonition was just as accurate as the "Duck and Cover" films we were shown. Maybe a better admonition would have been to "Avoid eating anything--ever!" to avoid the radioactivity they were spewing around the country and the world at the time. But it is nice that the government loves us so much that they would at least give us THIS warning.
Reality's horrors beat any fiction.
Meanwhile, Fukushima gives a maniacal laugh.
After the U.S. nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki, two cites with virtually no military value but large civilian populations, American medical teams were quickly sent in. Not to treat victims, but to measure damage and mortality both from the blasts as well as in the ensuing weeks, months and even years. in other words, a great big atomic science experiment. For a historical view from the Japanese side, I recommend the manga series, 'Barefoot Gen', based on the real-life experience of a young survivor of the Hiroshima attack.
those bastards ...
we are monsters
Your entire channel is at jeopardy because Bill Gates is behind creating COVID-19 virus. It is a man-made virus and for somebody to predict that only a few years before it came out is too coincidental. And now ironically he is helping support in creating a vaccine. Follow the money!
Very cool.
Thankfully the fallout stopped at the Canadian border!
Is that your car? Holly crap that is beautiful
Back in 1997 I read about this, and it's how I got the idea for my artist name, Atomchild.
I had a nuclear bomb after eating thai food yesterday
Note to self, Kodak the paper company not Kodak black...
When testing went underground the U.S. Atomic Energy Agency (AEC) insisted it was done safely. The U.S. conducted a bit over 830 nuclear explosives underground. A U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) report, issued in April of 1997, contained an estimate of the costs of a partial cleanup of the deposited radioactive blast debris. The estimate came to $7.29 trillion. That agency deemed such a cleanup as being impractical on several grounds. There was no mention of the emission of plutonium-239 in the blasts, in this video. One reason for that is details remain classified SECRET-RESTRICTED DATA. Those Pu-239 particles will remain a potential hazard for at least a half-million years. Most nuclear detonations dispersed over a half-kilogram of Pu-239 as extremely fine particles. It can now be measured in the sediments of the oceans.

Have you considered depot binding and bioaccumulation?
If it did that to film over 1,000 miles away, imagine what that explosion did to the people who lived in the towns not even 25 miles from where they set it off. Most of Lincoln County, NM.
Danm, those Americans contaminating themselves. And no, it's just you with the little atomic fragments in your bones.
Thanks America for the tests! Thanks for screwing with your an other people's health! The more you know the more retarded of a country it seems. Glad i am born somewhere else.
facepalms at nuclear powers....
3:49 if you know you know
How did you get permission to drive right up to the monument with your car?
And that's why there is so much cancer in USA.
War. War never changes
I wonder what the thyroid cancer rates are in Eastern American States VS California
"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." J Robert Oppenheimer
Sucks to be American I guess...
Americans are literally poisoned by their own Goverment, yet don't rebel or do anything about it. You're pathetic.
9:08 i like how the fallout stopped at the Canadian border.
government.......
Just more evidence on how the US government cares more about corporations than their own people.

And that is why and when all of those evil men should’ve been shot dead. Immediately. They knew this could’ve been made safer but then they wouldn’t have been able to make nuclear weapons so they went with Uranium which keeps on poisoning us all. Govt has never cared about your health except to ruin it. They too need to go. Evil pieces of filth. They have gotten even more evil.
