Theorists, what is McDonald's selling? The answer seems obvious - fast food! Most of us have partaken in their Big Mac burgers, fries, and other staples of the golden arches. Yet, that may be a big ol' LIE! That's right, Ronald McDonald may not be a clown selling some of our favorite indulgent quick serve foods. In fact, McDonald's may be in a completely different business all together. What is that business? You'll have to watch to find out!

How is working at McDonald's like being an archaeologist in Athens? You end up smelling like ancient grease.

1:54 THEORY THEORY REFERENCE?!?!
9:23 this just shows you that business is just a meta
Except a whole lot of that "real estate rent" comes from people selling food under contract by McD's, so it's a bit of a mischaracterization, even if the the parent corporation manages to shield itself from situations where individual restaurants would be unprofitable and pushes that loss onto the franchisee instead.
Mceverything
Yes. It is. By definition.
Robert Kiyosaki briefly mentions this in his book Rich Dad Poor Dad!
He became matpat to mcpat
With stable enough cash flow, we get mortgage and buy a house, get a car with down payment. Basically, Companies are doing same thing. For McDonald money from food(+etc) is the stable enough cash flow, I guess.
When he said mc soul that got me

8:38 your math is wrong , on the first year you ended up with -50k , and then on your second year that -50k just vanished , if you add that -50k on your second year as you should have done , you end up with no difference at all .
Before your brain explodes McDonalds is STILL an ACTUAL Restaurant。
The movie made that pretty clear... This video is irrelevant...
I suggest the next channel be toy theory and it will be blue colour
Take a second and think about how the government (any government, not just US) acquired all the country's land, and how they're able to maintain ownership of it all in order to sell it off to people. (Hint: it's an 8-letter word that starts with a "v") Then take another couple seconds and ask yourself whether or not a rich person should be allowed to use their money to purchase as much land as they are able, not live on it, never even see it, and charge someone else to live on it-and continue charging them forever, regardless of how much you've paid them in total over the years. My "landlord" (btw, shouldn't the word 'lord' raise some red flags?) is a big company that owns a bunch of different properties, including this dilapidated little fourplex I live in. I've never actually met or seen any of the people who own the place I live, and their sparse communications with me make it clear that they have no real, current knowledge of this particular property; we're just one of many. Yet I pay these unknown, uninvolved people a large portion of my income every month, and they could send me an email tomorrow saying they've sold the land to someone else who is going to demolish the building and erect higher-cost apartments or a restaurant or build nothing at all and just hold the land as an investment to sell off when it appreciates enough in value. This bizarre and obviously unfair arrangement is one of the greatest tools (or should I say 'weapons') used to maintain and expand division between the 1% and the rest of us. Private ownership of land must be abolished if we're ever going to achieve a more fair and equitable society.
The McDonald's in my country their ice cream machine is almost never broken.
Next channel :meme theory

Starbucks does not franchise. They only have store managers, not store owners.
The gaudy bronze alarmingly chew because exhaust invariably roll with a capable propane. righteous, high-pitched eel
My mom is actually ok with me watching this for homework
@9:07 Um....not $42,000 paid in taxes. Year one you can only deduct $50,000 of the $100,000 then you carry the remaining $50,000 to the next year, thus years 1 & 2 show $0 profit and your taxes paid over that 5 year period would total $31,500....which is somehow the same as your second scenario, $31,500. You can't take deductions to less than $0. When you have taken all the deduction that you are allowed, the balance carries forward.
When he said "I know that the ice cream machine, is gonna be broken," i was like, yUp
I like how year 4 and tear 2 boxes are swapped
One of the points Matpat brings up in this video is the exact reason McDonald's bought N64s to put in the Playplace. They costed a lot, so buying a bunch would take quite a bit off their taxes.
people that major in business are literally demons
I’m smelling a theory a myth theory
McDonalds is more succesful than my entire country Bosnia🇧🇦
Imagine doing this video with Argentinian tax laws.... lol

Hey, if this legal loophole is gonna keep my favorite restaraunts alive, then I'm all for it.
3:00 I’ve definitely heard that tune before, but I just can’t remember it and now I’ve ultimately triggered.

Wait, they put video games in some places??? I'm only 14 and basically just tree out of them, My little siblings still go there???????
1:20 mind blowing be playing mario 64 and eating fries at the same time
It's a fast food chain but it's also a restaurant. It's a diner where you can either eat inside of or take it to go.
This makes me want a nice cold glass of pear milk
No way mat pat, it’s not like there’s tones of documentary’s about this answer
McDonald's is one of my favorite places and my uncle owns a few buildings and is very succesful
next up: mcdonalds morgage theory
Local places are usually a bit more expensive, but in my experience, the flavor and portions are usually worth it anyway. Besides, if I can't afford to eat out at the prices set by local places, my guess is I shouldn't really be eating out in the first place, and opt to make something cheaper at home.
So that’s why they renovate McDonald’s so much.
Food theory teaches us taxes ! Food theory : 1 School : 0
I’ve already seen this movie on Netflix! But heck I’m gonna watch the video anyways out of respect for these channels.
Didn’t Ray Kroc steal McDonald’s from the McDonald’s brothers?
The founder was a great film. Very interesting
